The CHP Parliamentarian Dr. Binnaz Toprak will be honored with the Outspoken Award for her work with homosexual rights. Along with the receiver of the Outspoken Award, the Felipa de Souza Award will be given to the feminist human rights activist, known as Yasemin Öz.

To receive the prize from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC), the Istanbul CHP Parliamentarian of Equal Opportunities Commission for Men and Women, Dr. Binnaz Toprak, arrived in New York together with her daughter.

The Emmy and Tony award winning American actress from Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon, will be the host of the night, honoring Dr. Toprak along with the lawyer and the founder of the LGBT organization Kaos GL, Yasemin Öz. The Felipa de Souza Award has become the symbol of the 1556-1600th century story of the lesbian human rights fighter from Brazil.

On the 2013 Human Rights Awards organized by IGLHRC, along with Dr. Toprak and Öz, Dorothy Sander, will be honored with the Special Recognition Award.
