Grenada: Shadow Report on the Status of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Individuals

07/25/2007

Shadow reports on the status of lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals in Grenada developed with assistance from IGLHRC and submitted on July 9 to the United Nations Human Rights Committee for its 90th session, July 9-27, 2007 (http://www.ohchr.org/english/bodies/hrc/hrcs90.htm).

The Human Rights Committee regularly reviews submissions from every state party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Non-governmental organizations can submit “shadow reports,” which serve as an additional source of information for UN Committee experts. In the shadow reports, NGOs generally offer their own evaluation of the state’s compliance with the treaty.
