IGLHRC Joins International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO)

05/17/2011

IDAHO was created to bring attention to politicians, thought leaders, social movements, the public, and the media on the topics of homophobia and transphobia; to promote understanding; and to provoke action. It is also a day against violence and oppression, a day for liberty, diversity, and inclusion. The date, May 17th, was chosen in order to commemorate the decision taken by the World Health Organization in 1990 to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses.
