Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has launched an HIV/AIDS Legal Unit which, among other things, will be tasked with dispensing free legal advice and instituting litigation on HIV/AIDS-related matters. This is a positive development since there are many people who have reported abuses and deprivation due to their serostatus and/or vulnerability by reason of being affected by HIV/AIDS. Complaints have also been raised by some patients on ARV clinical trials, and the program could not have come at a more opportune time.
